Low-E Glass

Low-e glass stands for low emissivity glass. This glass varies from normal clear glass in that one side of the glass has a special metal coating, technically known as a low emissivity, or Low E. coating. Low-E glass is a type of insulating glass, which increases the energy efficiency of windows by reducing the transfer of heat or cold through glass. That means in the winter your house stays warmer, and in the summer it stays cooler.

  • Saves on heating and cooling by reducing air-to-air heat transfer.
  • Improves the energy efficiency of your home while reducing the amount of energy being used.
  • Increases personal comfort and aids in energy conservation.
  • Minimizes sound transmission.
  • Highest condensation resistance.
  • Fabricated with primary and secondary seal to maximize sealing properties.
  • Custom fabrication in conjunction with various low-e products.
  • Customized IG's for areas with hot or cold climates.

In warm weather, Low-E glass reflects the sun’s rays off of the glass, helping to keep the interior of the home cool.

In cold weather, Low-E glass can help reduce the loss of heat by reflecting the heat back inside the home.
